Sign up, verify your e-mail and phone number, enter 2-step verification code you got in SMS message.
Click on Buy/Sell and choose your payment method, the best is Credit/Debit card. Before that you will need to verify identity by uploading ID card, drivers licence or passport. Options for uploading are web cam or Coinbase mobile application, the second option is better. Just follow the link they send to your phone.

With verified identity and credit card, click on Bitcoin and enter amount.

As you can see, on Coinbase we can only buy 4 coins. To buy more altcoins we will need to transfer our bitcoins to another exchange. But! First thing, transfer costs from Coinbase are high. Second, bitcoin transfer is slow and expensive. It's better to transfer to Gdax (owned by Coinbase) first and switch our bitcoins to litecoins for faster transaction and lower fees. We could also buy LTC on Coinbase insted of BTC.

Login with your Coinbase e-mail and password, verify identity with Coinbase mobile app by uploading second document (if you upload ID card on Coinbase, options are passport and drivers license).
Click Accounts on the right menu, then BTC or LTC account (depends what you buy on Coinbase) and then click Down/Deposit arrow.

Simply choose Coinbase Account and transfer funds fast and with zero costs. With litecoins we are done, bitcons you can simply change on trade page with LTC/BTC pair.
From Gdax we will transfer funds to Binance exchange with very low fees.

Very good and safe place with more than 100 coins, regularly updated with new ones. Simple verification without document uploading, only if you need level 2 account.

Go to Funds -> Deposits, type LTC for Litecoin wallet address on Binance.
Copy LTC Deposit Address. 
Let's go back to Gdax, click Accouts, choose LTC account (wallet).
Click on Up arrow (Withdraw), then LTC Adress and paste your Binance wallet adress in Destination, amount and code which you'll get by phone. Press Withdraw funds button.

Transaction need some time, go to Binance -> Funds -> Deposits and watch incoming of litecoins (Confirming - see second picture up). It will need some time, don't panic.
When it's done we can go to shoping. Exchange-> Basic
On the right side you have BTC, ETH, BNB and USDT as a base of trading pairs.
BNB - binance coin with 50% fee cuts if you choose it for transaction costs on your profile. If you want that, click on Account - Using BNB to pay for fees（50% discount) - ON (green).
Convert your litecoins to BTC or ETH first: click on BTC, LTC/BTC pair.  


On the left side are red (all who sells on higher price then current) and green column (all who wants to buy for lower price). We want to sell our LTC asap, click on the top price on green column (or just do nothing, take current sell price - 0.020100)
Sell LTC section, enter Amount (100%) and confirm with red Sell LTC button. That's it, we switched litecoins to bitcoins, down you can see order history and check in Funds -> Balances.
Similar procedure in buying also, find some crypto you like, click on trading pair, fill Buy section and confirm with green Buy button.
